What Your Dog Experiences While You Are Away!

Meet Our Boarding Team

Jenny

Owner, Groomer, FFCP, pet First Aid & CPR Certified

Jenny started her journey in the pet industry as a dog groomer, specializing in the fear free approach. Her goal was to create a salon that provided one-to-one grooming, and a limited number of dogs her groomers could groom so as to decrease stress for not only her staff but the dog’s. “Grooming has a high burnout rate and is a trade that requires both physical and mental stamina” Ensuring a positive environment and a reward based approach was the only way she wanted to do this.

Sarah

Pet Resort Manager

Sarah joins The Emerald Paw team and brings along 16 years of Pet Care experience, ranging across doggy daycare, boarding, training, and even vet assisting! Sarah is CPACP certified through PACCC and is proud to be Fear Free Certified in Daycare and Boarding. She is excited to bring a Fear Free mindset into boarding to ensure all pups are having the most relaxing and safe stay as possible while also having fun!

Jordan

Pet Resort Manager

Jordan is the Pet Resort Manager at The Emerald Paw Pet Resort, blending her Marketing degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a lifelong passion for animals. She ensures top-tier care for pets while overseeing daily operations and designing engaging programs. Her marketing expertise drives creative campaigns, pet-friendly events, and community connections, enhancing the resort’s reputation. At home, Jordan enjoys time with her two orange kitties, Harrison and Franklin, reflecting her commitment to animals both professionally and personally.

Brie

Brand Manager

Brie has been a lifelong animal lover, with six years of experience in the pet care industry. Along with ensuring every pet is safe and happy, she also manages social media and assists with a variety of projects, sharing her creativity and passion for animals both online and behind the scenes.

Dog Boarding FAQ’s

Can my dog go to Zen Dogs while boarding?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Yes, your dog can attend Zen Dogs while boarding with us! We encourage including Zen Dogs in their routine. Simply let us know during booking, and we’ll confirm at check-in to make sure everything is set. Feel free to reach out with any special requests or questions!

How do you set up your groups? Can my dog do solo play?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Our playgroups are thoughtfully organized based on temperament, play style, breed, and size to ensure each dog feels comfortable and enjoys their time. Every dog receives a complimentary temperament test upon check-in, which helps us find the best group for them. To prioritize safety, we keep our groups small, typically around 10 dogs or fewer. If your dog prefers solo play, we offer one-on-one sessions during boarding for an additional fee. Please let us know in advance, as these sessions are based on availability.

Is someone there overnight?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

While we don’t have staff on the premises overnight, we ensure every dog is well-exercised from daily play and settles comfortably in their suites at night. We also have cameras inside and outside the facility, allowing us to monitor remotely and check in on the dogs throughout the night to ensure their well-being.

Can my dog be groomed during their stay?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Yes, we can arrange grooming for your dog during their stay! If they already have an appointment with a groomer, you can let us know if you’d like us to cancel it, or we can take your dog to the grooming session while they’re boarding with us. Just let us know your preference!

What should we bring for my dog’s stay?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

For your dog’s stay, we recommend bringing prepackaged food and treats, as we can store frozen or refrigerated items as needed. If your dog takes any medication or supplements, please bring them along; there’s no charge for administering these. For nature walks, a harness and leash are required. We encourage bringing comforts from home, such as beds, blankets, or 2-3 favorite toys, to help your dog feel at ease. Please note that we don’t leave bones or other ingestible items in suites overnight for safety reasons. We provide all necessary bedding, blankets, and feeding bowls for our guests.

What if my dog runs out of food during their stay?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

We recommend packing extra food to keep your dog’s diet consistent. However, if they do run out, we can provide Fromm’s Grain-Free Salmon Tunalini Recipe for an extra fee. We’ll notify you before providing house food to ensure you’re aware.

If my dog has a medical emergency, will you take them to the vet?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Yes, your dog’s safety is our top priority. In a medical emergency, we’ll do our best to take them to their regular vet if they’re available. If not, we’ll bring them to Aurora Vet Care in Waunakee or the nearest emergency vet. We’ll contact you immediately, if possible, while arranging the care your dog needs.

Can we get a boarding discount if our dog attends Zen Dogs during the day?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Since your dog’s suite is reserved throughout their stay, we’re unable to adjust the rate, even if they’re away during the day attending Zen Dogs. Our boarding rates cover the reserved suite and all facility amenities, including off-site excursions like Zen Dogs. We appreciate your understanding.

Which suite is best for my dog?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

To find the best suite for your dog, please visit the “Book Your Stay” tab on our website and click on “Our Suites.” You’ll find photos and descriptions of each suite to help you choose the perfect one for your pup.

What if my dogs can’t eat in the same room?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

No problem! If your dogs need to be separated during mealtime, we’ll ensure they eat in separate rooms to keep them comfortable and relaxed. Just let us know at check-in, and we’ll follow your feeding instructions to make sure each dog gets their meal without any stress. Please note that a small fee applies for the additional feeding room.

Can I pick up my dog earlier than the scheduled stay or pick-up time?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Yes, you’re welcome to pick up your dog earlier than planned! Just give us a call to let us know when you’re on the way, and we’ll have them ready for you. Please note that our standard cancellation policy applies, so there may not be a refund or adjustment to the boarding fee for early pick-ups.

My dog is unaltered. Can you still board my dog?2024-10-25T14:48:40-05:00

Yes, we can board unaltered dogs! For safety and comfort, unaltered dogs are placed in playgroups with dogs of similar temperament or given individual play sessions. Please note that additional fees may apply for solo activities, and unaltered dogs may have some restrictions on group play depending on their behavior and energy level. Feel free to reach out with any specific questions or concerns about your dog’s stay!

What does a typical day look like?2024-10-25T19:10:23-05:00
